Affiliate Programs: How they help to make you money

To help you make money from a website that you may already have, you might consider joining an affiliate program.

If haven't got your own website yet, then you should contact a web designer with affiliate marketing experience.

An affiliate means you make money by advertising products or services from other merchants, by putting text links or banners on your site.

If a visitor to your website clicks on the banner, which will take them straight to the merchant's site and if they buy something then you'll make a commission on the sale.

Unfortunately you won't make a fortune just by placing a banner on your site that is unless you receive thousands of visitors a day to your site.

But just by putting to use a few simple techniques, even the smallest of websites could bring in a decent income.

A first priority would be to link yourself to a merchant whose goods would be bought by the type of visitors you get to your site there would be no point in advertising dog food when your website is about PC maintenance.

To begin with try looking at the 'Commission Junction', one of the best affiliate network directories on the net, it won't cost you a penny and nor will it if you link up with one of listed merchants.

The whole process is very straightforward and simple, you won't need any programming expertise to get going.

Advertising other peoples' products is a good way of earning an income via your site, all you're doing is pointing someone in the right direction and your responsibility ends there.

Money-making surveys

A good way to start is to figure out who you want to work for, there are a couple of ways to find the company that suits you.

Almost all survey companies, not all though, allow members to invite friends so if you receive an invitation from someone you know you can trust then there's no harm in going for it.

Secondly you could try the good old-fashioned Google search make money with surveys, but as is well known, Google searching usually leads to more confusion you are going to get a million and one hits if you simply search for "Online Surveys".

A much easier way to start is to go to www.surveypolice.com, it has a listing of all the major and legitimate companies, along with ratings and comments on each one

The following is a couple of the better online survey companies:

Inbox Dollars (www.inboxdollars.com) They pay $1 a survey for the one survey a day you're allowed they also have paid emails which isn't much but you are going to read your emails anyway aren't you?

My Survey - www.mysurvey.com - look like one of the best with points being awarded for each survey completed.

A 1000 points is equal to $10 but bonus points are given away all the time, so that racking up the points doesn't take that long.

Finally, remember you won't get rich with these online survey companies and there are a whole lot of online companies who are more than happy to take your money off you.
